Inventor Capacity Meter is not visible on localized versions of Vista x64

When you ran Autodesk® Inventor™ on a localized version of the Windows Vista™ 64-bit operating system, the Inventor Capacity Meter was not visible.

Solution

To make the Inventor Capacity Meter visible

  1. Locate the files perfcxxx.dat and perfhxxx.dat in the folder windows\system32.
    Note:
Replace “xxx” with the language code for your product.
  2. Create backup copies of these files.
  3. Create a copy the English language version of this file, perfc009.dat, and rename it perfcxxx.dat, replacing “xxx” with your country code.
  4. Create a copy of the file perfh009.dat and rename it perfhxxx.dat, replacing “xxx” with your language code.

For example, on the German version of Vista x64, where the language code is 007, you would do the following:

  1. Rename the files perfc007.dat and perfh007.dat.
  2. Copy the file perfc009.dat to perfc007.dat.
  3. Copy the file perfh009.dat to perfh007.dat.

Inserting watermarks into Inventor files

You want to know if you can insert a watermark into an Inventor file.

Solution

Currently, there is no way to insert watermarks into Inventor files. This feature has been added to our wishlist for future releases.

In the meantime, you can use of the following methods as a workaround:

Method 1

Create a sketched symbol that uses text with an open or unfilled style (for example, ROMAND text). This will allow you to insert the symbol “stamp” without obstructing any geometry. Note: This method does not work with images.

Method 2

Use the DWF file format. This will allow you to mark up and share the DWF file without changing the original file.
